Dr. Phyllis Skaug and her husband, Dr. Warren Skaug, moved to Jonesboro in 1980. She was on the faculty at the Area Health Education Center – NE for 6 years and then she began practicing at The Children’s Clinic. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and from the University of Illinois with a Master of Science in Chemistry. She went to medical school at Texas Tech University for Health Sciences and completed her residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Dr. Skaug has Multiple Sclerosis and practices these days from a power wheelchair. One of the most common questions asked by her patients is, “Mommy, what’s that thing?”

Dr. Skaug enjoys outdoor activities, especially fishing, and travel with her family. She is a third grade Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church. The Skaugs have two grown sons and three grandchildren.
